Sentinel Clean Power

Sentinel Clean Power is a proposed wind energy project near Karval in Lincoln County, with a planned capacity of up to 675 MW.

The project represents more than 30 Lincoln County ranchers and landowners who chose to partner with Triple Oak Power to host wind turbines on their property, creating new economic opportunities while continuing the community’s legacy of family ranching.

Supporting the Local Community

Sentinel Clean Power will contribute millions of dollars to Lincoln County over the life of the project, benefiting our landowner partners, county services and infrastructure, and local job opportunities. The project will employ hundreds of people during construction, and these workers will support local restaurants, hotels, gas stations, and other businesses. Once constructed, the project will support an estimated 10-20 long-term positions with good pay, benefits, and opportunities for advancement over the life of the project.

Wind

Wind power harnesses Southwest Kansas’s world-class wind resource to generate clean, affordable electricity with a small land footprint. Turbines are carefully sited so farms and ranches continue operating normally, providing landowners with incremental, stable income and strengthening local energy independence. Wind energy has powered millions of American homes safely for decades and is one of the lowest-cost sources of new electricity.

Solar
Solar energy converts abundant Kansas sunlight into low-cost, clean electricity while preserving open landscapes. The project will advance environmental stewardship through native or site-appropriate vegetation, invasive species control, and topsoil preservation. Solar uses little to no water during operations and the project will be removed at the end of its useful life, allowing the land to be returned to agriculture or native wildlife habitat.
BESS
Battery Energy Storage
Battery Energy Storage Systems store excess electricity from low-cost wind and solar when it is plentiful and deliver it back to the grid when demand is highest. Modern battery systems are engineered to rigorous federal safety standards, continuously monitored, and coordinated with local emergency responders.
Natural Gas Peaker
A natural gas peaker plant is designed to be readily available to operate only when needed. By pairing limited-run gas generation with wind, solar, and batteries, the system enables more clean energy while maintaining the highest degree of reliability.
